Glanusk International Horse Trials 2011

International Coverage

Horse and Country TV (SKY Channel 280 televised universally) televised the event – a one hour programme in August and we received the following feedback from the head of programming.

“I'm writing to tell you all the good news that the Glanusk International Horse Trials programme was the most watched show on Horse & Country TV in its premiere week of transmission.

UK COVERAGE

This prestigious event was also televised on Wedi 7 on S4C, and BBC Wales covered the build - up to the event and specifically Iona Legge - Bourke’s efforts to raise money for the Glanusk chosen charity for 2011 "The Noah’s Ark Appeal", Iona competed in the Horse Trials and  raised over £19,000 for the charity.

Media coverage by way of publications, radio and internet coverage included local, regional and national outlets such as Horse and Hound, Eventing Magazine, Real Radio and others.

This international event unique to Wales, draws competitors, spectators and companies from across the UK and Europe.  The event has surpassed many other international events in it's class and has the support of funding from British Eventing, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Country Land & Business Association.  This event by it's design welcomes everyone from urban to rural areas.

Major sporting occasion, the only international event of its kind in Wales placing Glanusk firmly on the map of major events in the UK.
